Q) Tell us about your job and what it involves.

National New Build private housing developers, installers and multi occupancy developers, supporting national sales and specification for Ideal Heating, Gledhill and Atlantic products into the private new build sector. Assisting the industries transition from carbon based fuel dependency to industry leading energy efficient and cost effective renewable heating solutions.

Q) What’s the best thing about your job?

Working with a great team, with such a wealth of enthusiasm, talent, and knowledge. 

Q) What makes Ideal Heating stand out in the market?

Great products, manufactured in the UK, designed to meet customers specific needs, delivering the best solutions for energy efficiencies and build cost to our new build and housing developer customers.

Q) What do you like to do when you’re not at work?

Long suffering Sheffield Wednesday supporter, time with the family, travel, a few beers and attempting to play golf. 

Q) Tell me one thing your colleagues wouldn’t know about you?

I’m a passionate Sheffield Wednesday supporter, with many years in the stands watching them home and away, in my younger footballing years I attended training sessions with the Sheffield United youth team, and had to wear their shirt at training, thankfully there was no social media in those days, so no photographic evidence, I’ve had to live with this shame for so many years, and they rejected me!

Q) Tell us about your job and what it involves.

I am responsible for all three sales channels – one-off, new build and social housing - within Scotland and Northern Ireland. This is the only role like this within Ideal Heating.

Over the years I’ve also supported Ideal Heating’s training operations. We’re passionate about helping installers and engineers provide the highest standards of service to their customers through our learning and development offering.

Q) What’s the best thing about your job?

Interacting with our customers, getting to know them and building great working relationships and very often lifelong friendships. I’m proud to represent Ideal Heating and to be part of the UK heating industry.

Q) What makes Ideal Heating stand out in the market?

It’s got to be our sales teams and everyone involved in providing the industry-leading customer services we provide. Our customers know they can count on us that, if they ever have an issue, we’ll get it sorted for them quickly and correctly.

Q) What do you like to do when you’re not at work?

I enjoy eating out trying new restaurants and foods, and spending time with family and our dogs.

Q) Tell me one thing your colleagues wouldn’t know about you?

I have been a professional DJ (at weekends) since 1993.

Steven Maxwell

Key Accounts Executive

South West

Q) Tell us about your job and what it involves.

I am the new build Key Account Executive for South Wales & South West.

My role involves visiting new and existing regional and national developers. During my visits I support current projects and help design and specify new sites for all their heating requirements.

Along with visiting developers, I also call on all the contractors which complete the installation of our boilers and heat pumps for them.

Q) What’s the best thing about your job?

Definitely the people. I have a great team and customers, and that’s a massive part of the job that I do.

Q) What makes Ideal Heating stand out in the market?

The wide range of products that we have to offer and the exceptional pre/after sales support.

It’s one thing to manufacture and supply a quality product, but the customer service we provide and the expertise we have in-house is really special.

Q) What do you like to do when you’re not at work?

I am very much family orientated, so enjoy spending time with my two kids, going away in our camper van, travelling, and the odd game of golf.

Q) Tell me one thing your colleagues wouldn’t know about you?

I’m really good at baking cakes. In my spare time I make birthday cakes for friends and family.

Q) Tell us about your job and what it involves.

Key Account Executive New Build Central Building business relationships with New Build Developers to increase the Ideal Market Share.

Q) What’s the best thing about your job?

Having the ability to increase Ideal Heating products in partnership with the Developer.

Q) What makes Ideal Heating stand out in the market?

Market leading products, Class leading Product/Service support before and after specification.

Q) What do you like to do when you’re not at work?

Play Golf, walk the dog, enjoy tripping with the grand kids and may be dining out with the occasional aperitif. 

Q) Tell me one thing your colleagues wouldn’t know about you?

I was the School Javelin Champion at Grammar School.

Mark Cordingley

Key Accounts Executive

North East

Q) Tell us about your job and what it involves.

My role is to look after new build business for the North of England. This includes supporting both contractors and developers with marketing, pre sales and aftersales support. 

My aim is to protect our boiler sales while introducing Ideal air source heat pumps into the new build sector. 

My strategy is to help my customers with the legislation changes and be a key part in helping support both contractor and developers with the changes ahead as we head towards net zero and decarbonisation.

Q) What’s the best thing about your job?

I love spending time with customers, it’s great for getting to know people from different walks of life. 

I really enjoy the customer service part of my role and being the key contact and support for all my customer base. 

The number one thing has to be sales! New build sales can be a long process from pre sales to order, making sure we link up the full route to market, so it is satisfying when you see the confirmed orders coming through.

Q) What makes Ideal Heating stand out in the market?

We have the full package: pre sales, product, marketing, designs, sales, after sales support. 

We have been involved in heating homes for over 100 years, so we know what we’re doing and how to fully support our customer base. 

This is very obvious in new build and is why we have a 76 per cent market share.

Q) What do you like to do when you’re not at work?

I love spending time with my family. I have four-year-old son George and an eight-year-old daughter Faith. 

I also love playing and watching sport and I have had the joy of being the captain of my golf club for the last 16 months.

Q) Tell me one thing your colleagues wouldn’t know about you?

I’m ex-Armed Forces. I was in The Royal Dragoon Guards for seven years straight from school. 

I was a driver, a gunner and an operator of the Challenger 2 main battle tank. 

Gary Edgar

Key Account Executive - Scotland

Scotland

Q) Tell us about your job and what it involves.

I am the Key Account Executive for Scotland covering both new build and social housing sectors.

My role involves managing and supporting the business needs of new and existing national and regional new build developers, local authorities, housing associations and contractors. Working closely with our merchant partners is also a key part of this process.

Alongside our gas boiler business, I am also involved in promoting and selling our renewable solutions into this customer network.

Q) What’s the best thing about your job?

Being able to engage with a wide variety of people each day - from our customer base, merchant partners and Ideal colleagues alike. It’s a people’s game and forging relationships is crucial to the success and sales growth of our business.

Q) What makes Ideal Heating stand out in the market?

The wealth of industry experience in all departments and exceptional customer and aftercare service. This combined with UK manufactured industry leading innovative products set’s Ideal apart.

Q) What do you like to do when you’re not at work?

Most of my time is based around my wife and children. I have two young boys, a one-year-old and five-year-old who keep me on my toes. Between swimming, kickboxing, football, and other activities, the weekends are normally very busy, and family orientated. I like to keep myself active too, I enjoy trail running and hit the gym when I can. 

Q) Tell me one thing your colleagues wouldn’t know about you?

I write and produce music under the name 2nd Phase in my spare time. Less so now, but it’s something I have been involved with since my early 20’s.

Daniel Wilson

Key Account Executive

North West

Q) Tell us about your job and what it involves.

My role is to look after the new build accounts and contractors in my area maintaining our market share in the gas boiler market whilst growing sales of the Logic Air as we transition from gas to ASHP in the new build market, also specifying cylinders and Atlantic products within the multi occupancy marketplace.

Q) What’s the best thing about your job?

Meeting new people and socialising within the industry and every day being different to the last one helping look after and maintain the Ideal brand within the market place.

Q) What makes Ideal Heating stand out in the market?

The excellent customer service we offer our installers. Also, our ongoing support with our training centres and the courses we offer with our training centres.

Q) What do you like to do when you’re not at work?

Spending time with my two children Isabella and Ted, socializing and eating out with friends and family, football, and golf.

Q) Tell me one thing your colleagues wouldn’t know about you?

I train over 20 under 10’s children football and manage one of the teams in the local under 10’s football league.

Ben Garrett

Q) Tell us about your job and what it involves.

My role is to look after and grow the sales of ASHP as they become the popular option to replace the gas boiler market.

Q) What’s the best thing about your job?

The challenge of making sure Ideal stay at the top of new build with our ASHP’s. Also learning why our heat pump is better than our competitors

Q) What makes Ideal Heating stand out in the market?

The excellent customer service we offer our installers. Also our ongoing support with our training centres and the courses we offer with our training centres

Q) What do you like to do when you’re not at work?

Spend time with my wife and two teenage daughters. I also like to spend time in the gym.

I have been told by some of my colleagues in the past that I am friendly and one the most hard working reps they know.
