Corporate Social Responsibility programme case study: Ongo Homes housing association group

As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility programme, we support and encourage our employees to help local community organisations and activities in their areas.

As part of this programme, we recently donated £1100 to the Crowle Community Action Group in Scunthorpe, who are part of the Ongo Homes housing association group.

The donation will be used to fund two outdoor benches in order to help tackle social isolation, encourage conversation and improve the wellbeing of residents.

This grant was made available through the Ideal Heating promise to donate £5 from every boiler installed in a social housing property to projects that will benefit tenants and the local community.

John Jackson, a tenant and member of Crowle Community Action Group, said: “I think the bench at Manor Gardens looks marvellous. It’s great to watch people interacting and putting it to good use. The location is perfect for events we hold and we can’t thank Ongo and Ideal Boilers enough.”

Carl Rose, the local Key Account Manager from Ideal Heating commented: “We believe in giving back to local communities, which fits perfectly with Ongo’s values. We’re really pleased to be able to offer these benches to residents in Crowle as part our Corporate Social Responsibility programme, and hope they can be enjoyed for many years to come.”

Sandra Salmon, Customer Engagement Officer here at Ongo said: “This project is a fantastic example of how we work with our tenants and suppliers to make a difference. I’ve really enjoyed being a part of it and am excited to work on more community projects with Ideal Heating in the future.”
