Day Two at InstallerSHOW: We talk heat pumps, expert training and dedicated support
We’re not afraid to say it … at Ideal Heating, we love heat pumps!
If you visit our stand at InstallerSHOW at Birmingham’s NEC this week (Stand 5C38 for those yet to find us!), you’ll find our Logic Air heat pump, as well as our brand new HP290 model.
Our expert team can walk you through all their features and how we’re helping installers fit them – from training and tutorials to first-commissioning support.
We also love talking about heat pumps. That’s exactly what our Senior Product Manager, Andy Farquhar, did at InstallerSHOW when he joined a panel of leading voices to talk about the future of low carbon home heating.
Andy gave an insight into the technology behind an air source heat pump, before diving into the opportunities they present for UK homes.
Joining Andy on the panel was Charlotte Lee, CEO at the Heat Pump Association. We’re proud to be an Executive Member of the HPA, as we play our part in shaping the future of heating in the UK.
Speaking at InstallerSHOW, Andy said: “It’s true that, when it comes to low carbon heating, we don’t have the same silver bullet that we’ve had in the past when it comes to heating solutions.
“What we do have, however, is technologies that – when applied correctly – can offer even greater efficiencies and performance than the heating appliances we are currently using.
“As an industry, we must build the same level of confidence with heat pumps that people have in gas boilers. It’s a different way of thinking, but that message is getting out there now.”
The panel also discussed the importance of ensuring installers receive the support they need to re-train work with products like heat pumps.
Taking time away from work to complete training is a challenge facing all installers. But help is out there.
The Heat Training Grant offers installers £500 towards the cost of training for recognised courses, including those delivered by our own Expert Academy.
Our Expert Academy training arm provides installers with an industry-leading range of courses and qualifications. We’ve worked hard to give installers flexibility in how they learn, where they learn, and when they learn.
Our experienced training team has more than 300 years of combined industry knowledge and know-how, and our courses can be delivered in-person or online.
We’ve got two flagship training facilities – in East Yorkshire and Dunstable, near Luton – accompanied by satellite training centres located right across the UK.
It means you’re never far away from accessing the very best training courses on offer.
To change the way homes are heated, and transition to a low carbon future, we need the skilled installers to make it happen.
Our message to installers is a simple one … get in touch with us, and find out how we can help you gain new skills and become a low carbon heating engineer.
The word is getting out, and events like InstallerSHOW are the perfect platform to spread it even further!
We’re back at the NEC tomorrow for the third and final day at InstallerSHOW – come and find us on Stand 5C38!
